Tsuen Wan District is one of the 18 districts in Hong Kong. It is about 5 kilometres from Kowloon in the southern part of the New Territories of Hong Kong and is about 6,070 hectares. According to estimates by the Hong Kong government in 2004, there are about 290,000 people in the Tsuen Wan District. Some Tsuen Wan New Towns, including some Tsuen Wan District, are the second new towns in Hong Kong (formerly known as satellite cities) and developed in the late 1950s. Today, with the opening of other infrastructures such as the Hong Kong International Airport and Hong Kong Disneyland, the Tsuen Wan District has become a region with high potential for development in Hong Kong.
