Introduction to Hotan: Hetian (Uyghur: خوتەن شەھىرى, formerly known as "Heyi", renamed "Hetian" in 1959), and the Hetian area of ​​Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region contains county-level cities. It was approved by the State Council in September 1983 and was officially established on August 18, 1984. It is the political, economic and cultural center of the whole region. Hetian City is south to Kunlun and north to Bohai. Between Kunlun Mountain and Taklimakan Desert is the southernmost city of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, 1,500 kilometers away from the capital Urumqi. Established in August 1984, 585.11 square kilometers. It consists of 4 streets, 2 towns and 6 townships. There are 111 villages and 33 community neighborhood committees in the city. In 2011, there were 321,400 people in Hotan City, 88% of ethnic minorities, and 12% of Han nationality. It is a multi-ethnic group composed of 21 ethnic groups including Uygur, Han, Hui and Kazak. The city is known as the “Jade Capital” and “Hometown of Carpets”. Hotan has a rich historical and cultural heritage, special location and rich products. It used to be the important town of the South Road of the Ancient Silk Road and the hometown of Hetian jade. It is rich in "Old Three Treasures" Adelaide Silk, Handmade Wool Carpet, Hetian Jade and "New Sanbao" Uyghur Medicine, Otsuka (Tube Cistanche) Ejiao is famous. In 2011, the city completed a regional production value of 351.773 million yuan.
