Kuqa Introduction: Kuche County is located in the central and western part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in China, in the eastern part of the Aksu region, in the southern part of the Tianshan Mountains, and in the northern margin of the Tarim Basin. It is connected to Luntai County in the east, Shaya County in the south, Xinhe County and Baicheng County in the west, and Hejing County in the north. Kuqa Town, Kuche County is 750 kilometers away from Urumqi City. Kuche County has a total area of 14,528.74 square kilometers. In 2013, Kuche County was 470,600 people. Among them are 14 ethnic groups including Uygur, Han, Hui and Mongolia. Kuqa is the main battlefield for Tarim oil and gas development, and the source of the national “West-East Gas Transmission” project. The National West-East Gas Pipeline “One Big Five” gas field is distributed within the range of 3 to 60 kilometers in the Kuche and surrounding areas. The reserves of coal and other mineral resources are considerable as the five major coal-fired, coal coking and coal chemical bases determined by the autonomous region. Rich power resources are the power base in Xinjiang and the power hub in southern Xinjiang. The unique tourism resources are one of the four major tourist counties and cities in Xinjiang and an important part of the “five-zone three-line” gold tourism area.
