Profile of Fukang: Fukang City is located in the Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, the north-central part of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and the northern margin of the Tianshan Mountains (Bogda Mountain) and the southern margin of the Junggar Basin. It is 57 kilometers away from Urumqi, the capital of the autonomous region, and 93 kilometers away from Changji City, the capital of Changji Hui Autonomous Prefecture. As of 2012, there are 11,726 square kilometers and 220,000 people, including 26 ethnic groups including Han, Hui, Wei and Ha. It includes Tianchi Scenic Area, Fukang Industrial Park (Ganhezi Town) and 3 towns, 3 townships and 3 streets. Ji Kang has a long history. As early as the Han and Tang Dynasties, it was an important station on the ancient Silk Road. During the Ming Dynasty, it was built by Turner, and in the 41st year of Qing Emperor Qianlong (AD 1776), the Emperor Qianlong took the object. "The meaning is given to the name of Kang. In November 1992, the county was removed from the city. The terrain of Fukang City gradually slopes from southeast to northwest. The southern part of the landform is the Bogda Mountain of the Tianshan branch, the alluvial plain in the middle, and the Gurbantungut desert in the north. There are 7 rivers such as Shuimo River, Sangong River and Ganhezi River. It belongs to the mid-temperate continental arid climate, with long winter time, no obvious spring and autumn, hot summer, and large temperature difference between day and night. The annual average temperature is 6.7 °C, the average annual rainfall is 205 mm, and the average annual frost-free period is 174 days. The city of Fukang has tourism resources such as Bogda Peak, Tianchi, and desert, as well as mineral resources such as oil, coal, natural gas, limestone, clay, and thenardite. The geological report submitted in July 1995 showed that the oil reserves reached 1.5 billion tons. The prospective reserves are 8.4 billion tons, the limestone reserves are 90 million tons, and the natural gas reserves are 150 billion cubic meters.
