The older generation of proletarian revolutionaries such as Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai and Zhu De lived here for 13 spring and autumn, leading the Chinese people to win the great victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan and the War of Liberation, cultivating the spirit of Yan'an, leaving behind Zaoyuan and Yangjialing. More than 150 revolutionary sites and memorial sites with emphasis on Wangjiaping and Fenghuangshan are the three major educational bases of Chinese patriotism, revolutionary tradition and Yan'an spirit. They are the spiritual home of the Chinese Communists and the red tourist destinations of the people of China and the world. (Overview image source)
