Kaiyuan Introduction: Kaiyuan City is in the southeast of Yunnan Province and belongs to the Red River Hani and Yi Autonomous Prefecture. It is connected to Lushan in the east, Qiubei in the south, Mengzi in the south, Gejiu in the south, Jianshui in the west, and Maitreya in the north. It is the traffic fortress and central city in the southeastern region. 1946.91 square kilometers, 296,500 people (2010). Kaiyuan is rich in coal resources. Located in Xiaolongtan, 20 kilometers away from the urban area, the lignite reserves of 1.2 billion tons are the largest open-pit coal mine in Yunnan with an annual mining volume of 6.3 million tons. A 600,000 kW pit power plant was built. Cement, fertilizer, sugar, paper, brewing, food and other industries have begun to take shape. In 2011, Kaiyuan City realized an industrial added value of 4.03 billion yuan and realized a total profit and tax of 1.19 billion yuan.
