Xishan Introduction: Xishan District is one of the five districts of Kunming and is the southwestern part of Kunming City. Dianchi Lake, which is rippling in the east, is opposite to Guandu District and Chenggong District. It borders Wuhua District and Fumin County in the north, Anning City and Lufeng County in the west, and Jinning County in the south. Xishan District is 1058 square kilometers, dam area accounts for 8%, mountainous area and semi-mountain area account for 92%, including urban population of 180,000. There are more than 200 large and medium-sized enterprises and research institutes in the central, provincial and municipal areas. Xishan District administers 7 streets and 3 towns. The area is home to 25 ethnic minorities such as Yi, Bai, Hui, Miao, Naxi, Zhuang, Hani, Yi, Manchu and Mongolia. In 2010, the resident population of Xishan District was about 750,000. In 2012, Xishan District achieved a GDP of 35.4 billion yuan. Xishan Scenic Area includes Nie Er Tomb, Nanyang Machine Worker Memorial Hall, Guanlanchi Sunrise, Guantaihua Temple, Biji Yulan Garden, Qianbu Cliff Road and Liangwang Summer Terrace Site, Longmen Cliff and Xiaoshilin.
