About Pu Ge: Pu Ge County is the birthplace of the Yi Torch Festival. It is an open county that is approved by the Yi people as the main body of the ethnic minorities. Located in the southwest of Sichuan and southeast of Liangshan Prefecture. The county covers an area of 1,918 square kilometers and administers 3 towns, 31 townships, 151 administrative villages, and 722 villager groups. The total population is 136,647, of which 125,233 are agricultural population, accounting for 91.7% of the total population. There are 16 ethnic groups including Han, Yi, Hui and Buyi. The minority population is 103,079, accounting for 75.4% of the total population; the Yi population is 102,270, accounting for 74.8% of the total population.
