Ink River Profile: Yinjiang Tujia and Miao Autonomous County is located in the northeastern part of Guizhou, the western part of Tongren City, and the Yunnan-Guizhou Plateau to the Xiangxi hills and the Sichuan Basin. The county people's government is stationed in Guling Town. “Eight mountains, one water and one field” is a typical mountainous agricultural county. Located in the eastern part of the county, Fanjing Mountain is a member of the World Man and Biosphere Network. It is one of the five famous Buddhist mountains in China. It is the only Maitreya Buddhist Temple and the only oasis on the North Tropic of the Earth. The total population of the county is 420,000, and the Tujia and Miao nationality account for more than 70% of the total population. The Tujia people call themselves "Bizika", and there are national festivals such as "Tujia Catch the Year", "June 6th", "Tujia Daughters' Association", and there are unique folk activities such as Tujia swing dance, Tujia money, and Tujia red funeral.
