Introduction to Gangbei: Gangbei District is a district of Guigang City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. It was established in 1996 with the establishment of the prefecture-level Guigang City and is a county-level administrative district. Gangbei District is the political, economic and cultural center of Guigang City in the central part of the Guangxi Yuyu Plain. It is the geometric center of Guangxi Nanning, Liuzhou, Beihai and Zhangzhou. Gangbei District is an important cement production and gold and silver mining base in Guangxi, the main production base of milk buffalo and the largest orchid production base in Guangxi. By the end of 2010, Gangbei District has jurisdiction over 8 townships, towns and streets, with a total of 117 villages, 1020 square kilometers and a population of 664,000.
