Wuhu County is an archipelago of 100 large and small islands. The extreme east is Chamuyu, the west is Huayu, the extreme south is Qimeiyu, the extreme north is Mudouyu; the island is ringing with Baisha Island and Xiyu Island. Connected, the middle of the Three Islands is the famous Penghu Bay. The area is 126.8641 square kilometers. It has a population of 91,785 (2006) and a population density of 723 people per square kilometer. The climate of Wuhu is characterized by wind and rain. The smallest and only one of the island counties under the jurisdiction of Taiwan Province of Penghu County, consisting of the Penghu Islands. Due to its excellent geographical location, it has been a relay station between Taiwan and mainland China and between the Taiwan Strait since ancient times. It has always been a place for all parties to compete for.
