Yunlin County is between Taiwan's Changhua and Chiayi counties, on the west side of central Taiwan, east of Nantou County, and west of the Taiwan Strait. 1290 square kilometers. It includes Douliu City, Dounan, Huwei Town, Xiluo Town, Tuuku, Beigang 5 Town and 14 Township. The county government is located in Douliu City. In 1988, it was more than 800,000, mainly Han. In the Jianan Plain, the breeding fishery and abundant agricultural products are the most proud resources of Yunlin. The outer sea of Yunlin has been an excellent fishing ground since ancient times. The county enjoys convenient transportation. The Xiluo Bridge and Zhongsha Bridge across the Xuan Shui River are the longest bridges on the Longitudinal Railway and the North-South Expressway. Yunlin County is the earliest place for Han Chinese on the island of Taiwan to have a glorious history. During the Ming Dynasty, it was Tianxing North Road. In the thirteenth year of Guangxu (1887), Yunlin County was established, which was named after the county governor Lin Shupu, the name of Yunlinping.
