Introduction to Shangri-La: Shangri-La County is one of the counties of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture. The county is located at the intersection of the three provinces of Yunnan, Sichuan and Tibet in the northwest of Yunnan Province. It is also the hinterland of the world-famous “Three Rivers Parallel” scenic spot. As of 2014, Shangri-La County is 11,613 square kilometers. It consists of 4 towns and 7 townships. There are 6 neighborhood committees and 58 villages. In 2011, Shangri-La County was 174,500 at the end of the year. In addition to the main ethnic Tibetans, there are more than a dozen ethnic groups including Han, Naxi, Yi and Bai. The density of 10 people per square kilometer is one of the largest and lowest density counties in Yunnan Province. In 2011, Shangri-La County achieved a county-level GDP of 359.58 million yuan. The added value of county-level first, second and third industries accounted for 9.4:38.3:52.3. The main tourist attractions in Shangri-La County include Haba Snow Mountain, Pudacuo, Meili Snow Mountain and other attractions.
