Introduction to Chengbu: Shaoyang City governs the county. It is located in the southwest of Hunan Province and borders Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region in the south. The total area is 2,619.76 square kilometers. The total population is 270,000 people (2011). The county governs 6 towns and 6 townships. The county government is located in Renmin North Road, Rulin Town, 432 kilometers away from Changsha, the provincial capital, 206 kilometers away from Shaoyang City and 210 kilometers away from Guilin City. It is located at the intersection of the Xuefeng Mountain Range and the Nanling Mountains. The upper reaches of the Wujiang River is a tributary of the Minjiang River. The terrain is high in the south and low in the north. Wushui (also known as Xiongxi) is the largest river in the country. The deposits include ferro-iron, manganese, lead, tungsten, copper, diabase, marble, and crystal. Places of historic interest and scenic beauty include the founding fathers of the Ming Dynasty, the hometown of Liangguogong Lanyu, the “Baoqing Erfu” Chang’anying Site, the South Gate City Tower, the Kongsheng Temple, the Neolithic Age Site, the Baiyun, Qingfeng and other cave groups, the Shajiao Cave Silverwood Community and the Forest park.
