Introduction to Huancui: Huancui District is the resident of Weihai Municipal Government and the central city of Weihai is the political, economic, cultural and technological center of Weihai. The ring road area is at the easternmost point of the Shandong Peninsula. It is surrounded by the sea on three sides. The east is opposite to the Korean Peninsula and the Japanese Islands. The city is the closest city to China and South Korea. The Huancui District Construction Zone has three state-level development zones: Economic and Technological Development Zone, High-tech Industrial Development Zone, and Lingang Economic and Technological Development Zone. Huancui District is China's first “National Health City”, the first “National Environmental Protection Model City Group” and the first “National Excellent Tourism City Group”. It was twice awarded by the United Nations as “the best example city for improving human habitation in the world”. In 2003, it was awarded the UN Habitat Award. In 2005, it was named the favorite tourist destination of European tourists. In 2006, it was under the jurisdiction of Huancui District. All townships and towns were rated as “national level beautiful towns and towns”.
