Kaohsiung City is the second largest city in Taiwan. It is the most developed city in Taiwan with the highest population density and heavy industry. It is also the most widely-regulated “municipal municipality” in Taiwan. Located in the southwestern part of Taiwan, Kaohsiung City is bordered by Kaohsiung County and covers an area of 2946.3 square kilometers. Kaohsiung Port is the largest international port in Taiwan, and Kaohsiung International Airport is the second largest airport in Taiwan. Kaohsiung Tourism: Kaohsiung's tourism resources are the “Kaohsiung Eight Views”, including: Qishan Xizhao, Yupu Xiaolu, Yufeng Night Rain, Qilou Qiuyue, Jianggang Guifan, Guwan Taosheng, Wuhu Qingfeng and Jiangcun Fisherman's song. The Xiziwan Scenic Area, known as the “West Lake of Taiwan”, is the most famous sightseeing area in South Taiwan. The main attractions are scattered along the road around the lake. The scenery of the whole area is beautiful, suitable for lake and water, boating and fishing. There are also many sightseeing spots around the lotus pond in Zuoying, including Confucius Temple, Dragon Tiger Tower and Chunqiu Pavilion. The Kaohsiung landscape also includes: Foguang Mountain, Qihou Lighthouse, Qihou Fort, the former British dog consulate, Xiongzhen North Gate, Aihe and so on.
